The Coordinator of the Population Relocation Commission for the Giro Goldfields Sarl mining project, Mr. Emanuel Mbolihigie, has expressed complete satisfaction following the identification phase of the affected households, conducted over a three-month period. Official data indicate that more than 8,000 households were registered, along with over 200 market stalls across two markets and nine water wells documented within the targeted area.

In an exclusive interview with visionactu.net on Saturday, November 29, 2025, Mr. Mbolihigie praised the active involvement of the local population, which he described as a key factor in the smooth implementation of the operation.
« I am truly satisfied with the successful identification of the population of Giro, which took place without any incident. We thank the population for their support and the understanding they demonstrated throughout the process, » he said.

To ensure effective follow-up and address community concerns, a complaints and grievance reception office has been established. This office will be supervised by a designated sub-commission tasked with ensuring transparency, responsiveness, and proper handling of all requests submitted by residents.

The completion of this identification phase marks a major milestone in the broader relocation process of Giro Goldfields. It paves the way for the upcoming stages of the mining project while strengthening dialogue between the company and the local communities.
